Practical information
The AutoPollen – SYLVA Training School 2026 will take place from 31 August to 4 September 2026 in Rauris, Austria, at the foot of the historic Sonnblick Observatory, celebrating its 140th anniversary. Co-organised with GeoSphere Austria, this event supports the growing European collaboration around automatic bioaerosol monitoring.
The Training School is designed for students and early-career scientists entering the field of aerobiology. The programme combines essential theoretical lectures with extensive hands-on sessions using real open-access datasets, offering a practical introduction to automatic measurement principles, monitoring network design, data quality and calibration, training dataset preparation, fungal spores, eDNA methods, numerical modelling, and current developments in aerobiology.
Participants will also take part in a field visit to the Sonnblick Observatory, where they will learn how training datasets are produced and explore the unique environment of this high-altitude research station.
Register before the 30 June 2026 to strengthen your scientific skills and meet other aerobiologists from all around Europe!
